COLUMBUS (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that former University footballer Maurice Clarett is all set to start his life afresh. After spending more than three years in prison, the former Ohio State University football player Maurice Clarett is back to his former University to complete his degree. The news was revealed to media sources by Ohio State spokesman Jim Lynch who issued a statement mentioning that Maurice Clarett had joined classes from Monday.

The Ohio State University has granted re-entry to Maurice Clarett so that the former player can pursue his degree. He has been readmitted by the College of Education and Human Ecology where he was enrolled four years back before he was sentenced to the prison term. The player himself is excited to start his life afresh and issued a statement on Monday maintaining that it is almost a “surreal feeling to be back at Ohio State”. He also added that this time he does not want to be a “distraction or nuisance” to the students or the football team. Maurice Clarett said that he is trying his best to fit in with other students of the school. Although it is not known for sure whether the former player is planning to return to the football team, his statement hinted that he is interested to get back into real action on field.

Maurice Clarett during his only college season back in 2002 led the Ohio State Buckeyes team to the national championship. However, his career suffered a setback in 2006 when he was found guilty of aggravated robbery and carrying of a concealed weapon. He was released from prison on April this year.
