Jackson St. outduels Delta St. 32-17

JACKSON, Miss. — Junior quarterback Casey Therriault passed for a career-high 404 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead Jackson State to a 32-17 victory over Delta State.

In his first game as a Tiger, Therriault completed 27 of 47 passes. Jackson State wideout Anthony Mayes caught four passes for 118 yards, including a 62-yard grab.

Jackson State fell behind less than three minutes into the opening quarter after a 30-yard touchdown pass from Delta State quarterback Micah Davis to wide receiver Trevar Deed.

The Tigers answered with 16 straight points and entered the locker room with a 22-14 halftime lead.

An 11-yard touchdown pass from Therriault to tight end Renty Rollins with 12:18 remaining in the fourth quarter put the Tigers ahead for good.

Davis completed 23 of 40 passes for 365 yards and one score.
