LANDOVER (GaeaTimes.com)- On Monday night Virginia Tech University football team once again lost its season opening game and this time against Boise State University team. The former’s opening game losing streak that began back in 2007 when it lost against Louisiana State University after beginning 1-0, added the name of Boise State University as the fourth team that deprived it of opening game win.

However, it would be wrong to equate all the losses as similar. On Monday, one of the top seeded college football team fell grossly short of expertise and tactic play that was being expected of it. In the first quarter of the game, the Virginia Tech lacked the special team play and did some heavy mistakes that provided the Boise with two touchdowns.

Virginia Tech team only rushed for 5 yards as the whole of the first quarter was filled with penalties, special team issues and turnovers. Into the second quarter Virginia Tech University team was trailing Boise State University team by 17. However, it showed some spark and came up with some good play in the next two quarters. The scoreboards many a times changed in favor of the Virginia Tech team. However, the lead for most of the time was not stable and Boise State each time fought back with double zeal to win. In the fourth quarter of the game, although the team tried its best, it seemed that luck was all in favor of Boise State team that went for a last second touchdown pass and secured a win.

After the game the Virginia Tech Coach Frank Beamer accepted that the team had played miserably in the first quarter but added that the players “didn’t hang our [their] heads” and battled their way. He emphasized that the team needs to correct some mistakes to emerge as a good football team.
