SC State shuts out Florida A&M 19-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Blake Erickson kicked four field goals as South Carolina State opened Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play by shutting out Florida A&M 19-0 on Saturday night.

Erickson, a junior, was 4-for-4, kicking a field goal in each quarter at distances of 39, 39, 41 and 42 yards.

Quarterback Malcolm Long, who was 21-for-33 for 206 yards with one interception, scored on a 1-yard burst before Erickson’s final field goal.

The Bulldogs rolled up 409 yards while holding Florida A&M to 106 yards, 48 on the ground.

South Carolina State, the two-time defending MEAC champion, has won 20 straight league games and nine in a row over the Rattlers (2-3, 2-1). The Bulldogs have outscored opponents 124-20 in three wins since losing to Georgia Tech 41-10 in their season opener.
