Ark.-Pine Bluff beats Southern University 41-23
BATON ROUGE, La. — Raymond Webber caught 11 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns as Arkansas-Pine Bluff defeated Southern University 41-23 Saturday night.
Webber, who came into the game averaging a nation-best 9.67 catches per game, caught touchdown passes of 31, 33 and 26 yards from Louisiana native Josh Boudreaux, who completed 24 of 29 passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns.
The game was tied 13-13 at halftime, but Webber scored twice in a 3:05 span of the third quarter, the second touchdown set up by an interception by Jamel Maxwell.
The Golden Lions (2-2, 1-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter on a 42-yard pass from Boudreaux to Adrian Moore, and Justin Billings’ 64-yard run.
Jeremiah McGinty completed 21 of 38 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns for Southern (1-3, 0-2).
