CWG men’s hockey: England enter semi-final

NEW DELHI - England qualified for the semi-finals with a 2-1 win over South Africa in the men’s hockey competition at the Commonwealth Games here Sunday.

England took their tally to 10 points from three wins and a draw while the South Africans remained on six with two wins and as many defeats.

In a tense encounter, England moved ahead in the eighth minute when Ashley Jackson flicked home from an acute angle. South Africa equalized in the 46th when Taine Paton found the mark, but England clinched the issue when James Tindall snatched the ball from defender Lance Louw to score in the 66th minute.
