Pak female players to play in Fed Cup after gap of 12 years

ISLAMABAD - Pakistani female tennis players will take part in the upcoming Fed Cup after a gap of 12 years.

The Fed Cup is the premier team competition in women’s tennis, launched in 1963 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The Pakistan women’s team’s last Fed Cup appearance was in 1999.

“Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Syed Kaleem Imam and PTF Secretary Mumtaz Yousaf have made a detailed programme for the youth to groom them to an extent that they are able to match the finest players in the game at international level,” the Dawn quoted a PTF statement, as saying.

Pakistan team members are Ushna Suhail, Sara Mehboob, Sara Manzoor and Saba Aziz. (ANI)
