Oz eves reclaim Ashes on one-off Sydney TestBy ANI

SYDNEY - Australia have restored some much needed cricketing pride with the women’s team wrestling the Ashes back from England.
A match-winning knock from Sarah Elliott, 81 not out, led Australia to an emotion-charged seven-wicket victory in the one-off Test at Bankstown Oval in Sydney today.
The match was in the balance at the start of the day’s play with Australia 1-29 chasing 198 for victory, and, it took an assured and increasingly confident innings from Elliott to pave the way for the win.
Fittingly it was Elliott who hit the winning runs, a single down to fine leg, to secure a win that will stand out in a summer punctuated largely by humiliation for Australian cricket and its followers, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
It is the first time Australia’s women have held the Ashes since 2005, as they completed the challenge their male counterparts failed so poorly to execute earlier this summer - winning back the urn on home soil. (ANI)
