She beat Tzu Ying Tai of China by a margin of 21-18, 21-15 which happens to be one of the very best scores in the tournament. This is the second big title for Saina Nehwal after she won her maiden Super Series at the Indonesian Open way back in the last year. Before she made it to the Singapore Open, Saina Nehwal had won the India Open Grand Prix Gold title. At one point of the game, Saina Nehwal was tied with her opponent Tzu Ying Tai at a common score of 18-18. From that very point, Saina Nehwal made it to the end of the game in a superb manner never giving a chance for her opponent to get back in the game. It was in the second game, where Saina Nehwal played better at the net and overpowered her opponent in rallies and finally emerged as the winner.

After the match the 20 year old Saina Nehwal told the media that she was a little slow to match up with the speed of her opponent but in due course of the match she gained confidence to play her natural game. Saina Nehwal said that she was only focussed on giving her 100 percent in the game which actually made her emerge as the winner of the day.
