LONDON - Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp has said that he will consider making a bid to lure David Beckham to the club, as he has been impressed by the latter’s training.

He said that he would consider making a bid when his LA Galaxy contract expires in November.

Former England captain Beckham returns to the States for his final season in the MSL on February 9 and, although he has an option on buying his own franchise in America, he has intimated he wants to return to European football when his contract comes to an end.

Tottenham failed to sort out a deal to reimburse LA Galaxy and pay for insurance for Beckham to play during his spell training with the club - still a regret for Redknapp.

But the Spurs boss has nevertheless been impressed by the impact Beckham has had in his six weeks at the club.

Redknapp said: “I would like to have had him playing. He has looked great in training. He has been fantastic. He is a top-class bloke. He comes in, works hard every day, he has been great around the place.

“He is so slim and so fit, he is a fanatical trainer. He works in the morning and the afternoon in the gym. He could be at home now sitting around the pool. I am sure he has a decent enough semi in Los Angeles but he is over here wanting to play,” he added. (ANI)
