Boston tweaks lineup for series finale in Toronto

TORONTO — The struggling Boston Red Sox have shuffled their lineup, dropping Jacoby Ellsbury from leadoff to the eighth spot and bumping Dustin Pedroia up from second to leadoff.

J.D. Drew batted second and Kevin Youkilis hit third with Jason Bay moving into the cleanup spot against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Boston manager Terry Francona decided to make some changes against Blue Jays left-hander Ricky Romero after watching his team score just 13 runs while losing four of its past five games.

It’s the first time this season that Ellsbury has started and not batted leadoff, and the first time Pedroia has led off. Pedroia’s on base percentage is .419 while Ellsbury’s is just .332.

Ellsbury is batting .299 with one homer and 15 RBIs.
