Sizemore nearing return to Tribe lineup
CLEVELAND — Grady Sizemore’s ailing left elbow has improved enough to where the All-Star center fielder could be back in the Cleveland Indians’ lineup in seven to 10 days.
Sizemore’s MRI exam Monday revealed much of the inflammation that’s hampered him since spring training subsided. Arthroscopic surgery was an option.
Sizemore will test the elbow with more swings and throws Tuesday, and he will be evaluated daily. No more MRI exams have been scheduled.
As long as it doesn’t get any worse, Sizemore says he could play the rest of the season with the pain level he has now. The elbow affects his throwing more than hitting.
Sizemore is batting .223 with nine homers and 31 RBIs in 49 games this season.
