Lynx star Augustus out for season
MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Lynx star Seimone Augustus will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in her left knee.
It’s devastating news for a team that had won four of its first six games. Augustus was leading the team and was third in the WNBA with 21 points per game heading into Friday’s game at Seattle.
Augustus was injured Wednesday against Phoenix. The team says a date for knee surgery has not been set.
Lynx executive vice president Roger Griffith called it an unfortunate situation. But he says he has confidence that the players will step up and continue our early season success.”
