Sun snap Fever’s 11-game win streak
UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Lindsay Whalen had 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists and the Connecticut Sun snapped the Indiana Fever’s 11-game winning streak with a 67-61 victory on Sunday.
The Sun had a 60-40 lead with 4:53 remaining, but went scoreless for more than four minutes. Indiana went on a 16-0 run to get within four until Asjha Jones made a free throw with 22.6 seconds remaining.
Indiana (11-3) had the longest winning streak in the WNBA since 2006.
Connecticut (8-6), which moved within three games of the Fever in the Eastern Conference, has won three straight.
Jones and Erin Phillips scored 12 points apiece for Connecticut and Sandrine Gruda had 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Katie Douglas and Ebony Hoffman each scored 15 points to lead Indiana. The Fever shot a season-low 29 percent from the field.
