Obamas planning luxurious holiday at Martha’s Vineyard

WASHINGTON - America’s First Family is going to holiday next month on the luxurious Martha’s Vineyard, which has a basketball court for President Barack Obama.
The buzz on the island off Massachusetts was that Obamas have rented the 20 million dollar, 28-acre Blue Heron Farm in the Chilmark section for the last two weeks in August.
The White House wasn’t disclosing the rental price, but similar properties go for 35,000-50,000 dollars per week, the Daily News reports.
Obama was expected to spend the last week of August at the estate, but First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha will likely go to the Vineyard earlier. And First Dog Bo can come too, according to the rental terms.
Tom Wallace, a partner in Wallace and Company Sotheby’s International Realty, was quoted as saying that the Edgartown real estate firm has leased Blue Heron Farm from owners William and Mollie Van Devender, and was now subleasing it.
“That I can confirm, but I cannot comment on who the tenants are,” Wallace said.
The four dwellings on the estate are dominated by a white Victorian farmhouse, and the property overlooking a finger of the Tisbury Great Pond includes an apple orchard, flower and vegetable gardens, stone walls, a swimming pool, a golf practice tee and a small basketball court.
The Obamas have vacationed on the Vineyard before as guests of Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree, who represented Obama pal and Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., in his recent dispute with a police sergeant. (ANI)
