Trail Blazers, Roy to hold Friday press conference
PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Trail Blazers scheduled a Friday morning press conference to discuss Brandon Roy’s multiyear contract extension.
The 25-year-old Roy led the Trail Blazers with 22.6 points and 5.1 assists per game last season as the team won 54 games and made the playoffs for the first time in six years.
General manager Kevin Pritchard said in a statement Thursday that signing the star guard represented “one of the most exciting and important days in Trail Blazers history.”
The Trail Blazers declined to release contract terms, but Roy’s agent says it’s a five-year deal which could be worth more than $80 million.
