TAMPA, Fla. — Disgraced former NBA referee Tim Donaghy is back behind bars after he was accused of violating probation by not showing up for work.

Donaghy was being held without bond Tuesday, a day after his arrest. Deputy U.S. Marshal Ron Lindbak says Donaghy wasn’t at work when he was supposed to be, but Lindback didn’t know further details.

Donaghy’s attorney didn’t immediately return phone messages.

Donaghy was given a 15-month sentence last year after he said he took money from a professional gambler in exchange for inside tips on games — including games he worked. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in wire fraud and transmitting betting information through interstate commerce.

Donaghy was moved to a halfway house this year.
