Babin throws 5 TDs in SE Louisiana 69-20 win

HAMMOND, La. — Brian Babin threw for 286 yards and five touchdowns to lead Southeastern Louisiana to a 69-20 win over Union of Kentucky on Thursday night.

Zeke Jones ran for 106 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns for the Lions (2-0). Sam Fairley added 71 yards on the ground on 19 attempts and a score.

Babin, who completed 16 of 19 passes, had touchdown throws of 25, 43, 17, 42 and 11 yards. Simmie Yarborough caught three passes for 95 yards for Southeastern Louisiana, which totaled 565 yards on offense.

Curtis Strong returned an interception 64-yards for a touchdown to give the Lions a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Mike Brinkley completed 4 of 13 passes for 118 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the Bulldogs (1-1), an NAIA program. His longest passing play came on an 87-yard touchdown to Demetrius Hicks in the first half.
