Sri Lanka start Champions Trophy with a win

CENTURION - Sri Lanka defeated South Africa by 55 runs via the Duckworth Lewis method in the rain marred opening match of the Champions Trophy at the SuperSport Park here Tuesday.

Riding on Tillakaratne Dilshans 106, Sri Lanka made 319 for eight in 50 overs after being put into bat by South Africa in the Group B match. In reply, South Africa were 206 for seven in 37.4 overs when the rain gods came down heavily forcing the result to be decided by the DL method.
