BATON ROUGE, La. — Tim Tebow looks ready to go.

Tebow has been medically cleared to play for No. 1 Florida against No. 4 LSU on Saturday, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said earlier in the day that the quarterback would play if he received clearance from doctors. The person requested anonymity because an official announcement had yet to be made.

Tebow went through pregame warmups with the top-ranked Gators. He made some throws, ran some pass patterns and did some stretching for about 10 minutes.

As he jogged back to the locker room, he paused to take a look at LSU mascot Mike the Tiger in his cage, stationed near the visitors’ tunnel in the corner of the stadium.

Tebow re-emerged from the locker room about five minutes later with his helmet and shoulder pads on and started throwing to receivers.

Two weeks after suffering a concussion against Kentucky, Tebow’s status for what figured to be Florida’s toughest regular-season test was uncertain.

The senior has never missed a game in his four-year career.
