Porter scores 17 points to lead South Carolina State to a 75-69 win over Southern Wesleyan

South Carolina State beats Southern Wesleyan 75-69
ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Darnell Porter scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures and South Carolina State held off Southern Wesleyan 75-69 on Monday night.
Tyvon Williams came off the bench to score 11 points and Khalif Toombs added 10. Rio Pitt had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-0).
Nothing has come easy for the Bulldogs this season as the total margin of victory in the three games is 17 points.
The Bulldogs had 19 turnovers, but were dominant in the paint with 11 blocked shots, including four each by Pitt and Jodd Maxey.
Nikola Lambic came off the bench to lead the NAIA Warriors (5-1) with 16 points in only 28 minutes. Nick Lagroone added 15 points and Nick Crowder had 11.
After going 0-for-6 from 3-point range in the first half, the Warriors made 5 of 8 from behind the arc in the second half.
