Middle Tennessee defeats Louisiana-Monroe 38-19
MONROE, La. — Dwight Dasher ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Middle Tennessee to a 38-19 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday for the Blue Raiders’ sixth straight win.
Middle Tennessee (9-3, 7-1 Sun Belt Conference) won nine games for the first time since 1992 and joins the 2003 North Texas squad as the only conference teams to win nine games in a season.
Dasher’s passing touchdowns of 6 and 18 yards tied Mickey Corwin’s single-season mark of 21 set in 1984. Dasher’s 88 yards rushing made him the school’s career leader for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,676. He scored on runs of 2 and 9 yards.
The Blue Raiders intercepted three passes, returning one 58 yards for a score, and had four sacks to set a single-season school record with 38.
Luther Ambrose caught seven passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns for the Warhawks (6-6, 5-3).
