Forest, Southeastern Louisiana rout Millsaps 81-49
HAMMOND, La. — Damon Forest scored 15 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as Southeastern Louisiana coasted to an 81-49 victory over Millsaps College on Saturday.
Patrick Sullivan added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Lions (4-1), who built a 45-19 halftime lead and outscored the Majors (1-3), a Division III opponent, 15-0 over the game’s final 7:07.
Robert Tibbs recorded his first career double-double for the Lions with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Gary Dixon added 12 points, all from behind the 3-point line.
Tibbs, who went 11-for-12 from the free throw line, fueled a 13-0 run in the first half that turned an 11-9 deficit into a 22-11 lead. Southeastern closed out the first half with an 11-2 run, including five points by Forest, for a 45-19 lead.
Blake Martinez scored 19 points to lead Millsaps, which got no closer than 14 points, 57-43, in the second half.
