Irish to vote on bowl while waiting Weis decision
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame players have begun arriving for a team meeting while awaiting word on the fate of coach Charlie Weis.
The Monday afternoon meeting will include a vote on whether the players want to play in a bowl game after their 6-6 season. Athletic director Jack Swarbrick has said he will consider the players’ wishes in deciding on a bowl trip.
Weis was not in his office early Monday, though there were no announcements about whether he will return for a sixth season. Swarbrick has said he will make that decision within the next few days.
