No. 9 Ohio State beats Mississippi 79-77
OXFORD, Miss. — Andrea Walker made two free throws with 40 seconds left to cap No. 9 Ohio State’s 12-0 game-closing run in a 79-78 victory over Mississippi on Sunday.
Samantha Prahalis had 17 points for the Buckeyes (10-1), who faced a 10-point deficit with 2:56 to play.
Bianca Thomas scored 25 points to lead the Rebels (6-3). Her layup off Kayla Nelson’s steal and assist gave the Rebels a 77-67 lead with just under 3 minutes left. But Ole Miss missed four shots from the field and three free throws and turned the ball over twice as the Buckeyes mounted their rally.
Walker’s free throws gave Ohio State a 78-77 lead and Prahalis made one of two to seal the game. Elizabeth Robertson’s 3-point try at the buzzer bounced off the rim.
