Florida A&M rattles Albany State (Ga.) 86-64
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Larry Jackson scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Florida A&M to an 86-64 victory over Albany State (Ga.) on Saturday night.
Brandon Bryant added 16 points for the Rattlers (2-10), including four 3-pointers, Dale Hughes added 13 points and Chris Walker had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Albany State (1-4) cut a 29-16 FAMU lead to 35-30 at halftime, getting a 3-pointer at the buzzer from Sean Glenn, who led the Rams with 15 points.
The Rattlers began pulling away midway through the second half, building an 11-point lead, 60-49, on a Chris Walker layup with 10:56 to play. A 3-pointer by Bryant made it 63-51 with 10:22 left, and the Rams, a Division II team, would get no closer.
FAMU’s 58.9 percent (33-for-56) shooting was its best performance of the season, while Albany State managed just 40.4 percent (21-for-52).
