Bethune-Cookman beats Florida Christian 94-59
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Alexander Starling scored 14 points and three other Bethune-Cookman players scored in double figure to beat Florida Christian 94-59 on Saturday.
Starling, who only played 21 of the game’s 40 minutes, also had game-highs of 12 rebounds and four steals for the Wildcats (7-5).
Florida Christian (4-6), the Division II team which lost its fourth straight game, was led by 19 points from Geoffry Gillot and 13 from Joseph Wood.
Javoris Bryant scored 13 points for Bethune-Cookman, Kevin Dukes had 11 and C.J. Reed added 10.
Bethune-Cookman, which never trailed, raced to a 19-6 advantage at 14:18 of the first half with Starling scoring seven during the spurt. The Wildcats gradually expanded the lead, settling for a 46-23 command at halftime.
Bethune-Cookman continually increased the margin in the second half, pushing it to 35 points 84-49 at 5:51.
