Hughes leads No. 23 Wisconsin over Penn St, 63-46
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Trevon Hughes scored 18 points and No. 23 Wisconsin defeated Penn State 63-46 on Sunday.
Jason Bohannon added 11 for the Badgers, who won their sixth straight.
Talor Battle scored 15 points, while David Jackson added 13 points and five rebounds for Penn State, which has lost 11 straight to Wisconsin dating back to 2003.
Hughes and Taylor made it tough for the high-scoring Battle to get good shots. Jackson gave the Nittany Lions a spark with his scrappy play around the bucket.
Otherwise, the Badgers played their typically tough defense and got some nice looks from the outside. They finished 8-of-19 from 3-point range.
Wisconsin held a double-digit lead from most of the second half. The lead dwindled to nine with 10:59 left before Tim Jarmusz and Hughes followed up with 3s to dash hopes for a Penn State comeback.
