Robert Morris holds on to beat Morgan State 78-75

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Rob Robinson scored five of his 23 points in the final minute to lift Robert Morris to a 78-75 win over Morgan State on Monday night.

The Colonials (7-7) trailed 73-72 after two free throws by Morgan State’s Ameer Ali with 1 minute left. Robinson then hit a jumper with 42 seconds to go and followed with a three-point play with 12 seconds remaining for a 77-73 lead.

Joe Davis pulled the Bears (8-6) within 77-75 on a layup with 6 seconds to play, and Morgan State fouled Dallas Green a second later.

Green made one of two free throws to seal the win.

Karon Abraham scored 17 points and Mezie Nwigwe added 14 for the Colonials in their third straight win.

Robinson added 11 rebounds as Robert Morris outrebounded the Bears 35-29.

Kevin Thompson scored 19 points, Sean Thomas 14 and Reggie Holmes 11 for Morgan State.
