Porter’s 29 leads Southern-New Orleans in 95-89 overtime win over Northwestern State

Southern, N.O. tops Northwestern State 95-89 in OT
NATCHITOCHES, La. — Ricardo Porter scored 29 points to lead Southern-New Orleans in a 95-89 overtime victory over Northwestern State on Monday night.
Porter nailed eight 3-pointers for the NAIA Knights, who counted the game as an exhibition. Lionel Green added 27 points with five 3s in the win.
Trailing by three points with less than a minute left in regulation, Northwestern State’s Damon Jones nailed a 3 to tie the game at 81 with 36 seconds left. The Demons then had a chance to win, but Will Pratt missed a jumper with 4 seconds remaining.
In the extra period, Ronald Palmer’s dunk capped a 5-0 run for the Knights, giving them a 93-86 lead with 12 seconds remaining.
Pratt led the Demons (5-8) with 18 points. Michael McConathy chipped in with 15 points, while William Mosley grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked four shots.
