Saint Louis beats Duquesne 79-75 in 2 OTs
PITTSBURGH — Kyle Cassity scored 15 points while leading a second-half comeback and hit a 3-pointer as Saint Louis scored the first seven points of the second overtime and went on to beat Duquesne 79-75 on Wednesday night, the Dukes’ fourth consecutive loss and fifth in six games.
Kwamain Mitchell overcame a slow start to score 19 points — 11 in the two overtimes — and Cody Ellis added 14 points for Billikens (11-5, 2-0 Atlantic 10 Conference), who won despite giving up leads late in regulation and in the first overtime.
Damian Saunders had 23 points and 17 rebounds — at 6-foot-7, he is the nation’s second leading rebounder — but the Dukes still lost their second in a row in overtime.
The Dukes (9-8, 0-3) have played a school-record five overtime games, also losing to Pittsburgh and Dayton while winning twice.
