Bost, Turner leads Mississippi State past Georgia 72-69 in SEC play

Mississippi State beats Georgia 72-69
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Dee Bost and Phil Turner each scored 15 points to lead Mississippi State to a 72-69 victory over Georgia on Saturday.
Mississippi State (15-3, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) overcame two separate double-digit deficits in the game.
Georgia (8-8, 0-3) led 41-30 at halftime and led 64-51 late in the second half.
Bost hit a running jumper in the lane with 39 seconds left to give Mississippi State a 72-69 edge after a 16-3 run got Mississippi State back into the game.
Barry Stewart blocked Ricky McPhees game-tying 3-point attempt with 10 seconds remaining. A similar shot by Dustin Ware was no good at the buzzer.
Jarvis Varnado scored 14 points and 14 rebounds for Mississippi State, while Barry Stewart chipped in 10.
Trey Thompkins had a game-high 18 points, Travis Leslie had 14 and Albert Jackson added 11 for Georgia.
