Gardner-Webb beats Presbyterian 64-57 in OT
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — Grayson Flittner scored five of his 13 points in the final 2 minutes of overtime, leading Gardner-Webb to a 64-57 win over Presbyterian on Thursday night.
Down 57-55 with 2:18 left to play in the extra frame, Flittner hit a 3-pointer to spark Gardner-Webb’s 9-0 run the rest of the way. He also hit a pair of free throws with 22 seconds left to help seal it for the Runnin’ Bulldogs (6-12, 3-5 Big South Conference).
C.J. Hailey’s driving layup and ensuing free throw for Gardner-Webb with 26 seconds left in regulation sent the game to overtime tied at 49.
Gardner-Webb got 12 points apiece from C.J. Hailey, Auryn MacMillan and Anton Silver, and shot 43.4 percent for the game (23-of-53).
Reserve forward Walt Allen scored 15 points off the bench for Presbyterian (3-17, 1-7), connecting on 6 of 8 from the floor to go with seven rebounds.
