Jones’ 27 lead Northern Arizona to 75-71 Big Sky win over Sacramento State

Northern Arizona defeats Sacramento State, 75-71
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Cameron Jones scored 27 points and Northern Arizona picked up its third straight win, topping Sacramento State 75-71 on Sunday.
Gabe Rogers added 11 points and Shane Johannsen chipped in with 10 for the Lumberjacks.
Northern Arizona (10-9, 4-4 Big Sky) led 9-2 in the first three minutes, but the Hornets (7-14, 1-7) came back and eventually went ahead 24-22 on Antonio Flaggs’ 3-pointer.
After taking a three-point lead at halftime, Sacramento State extended its lead to 52-44. The Lumberjacks then went on a 14-5 run to take a 58-57 lead. The Hornets took the lead right back when Sultan Toles-Bey hit a 3-pointer on the next possession.
Johannsen answered with a pair of free throws and then Rogers nailed a 3 to put NAU ahead for good at 63-60.
Toles-Bey led the Hornets with 17 points and Duro Bjegovic added 16.
