Cent Conn St beats Fairleigh Dickinson 77-67
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Shemik Thompson scored 24 points and Joe Seymore added 20 points, leading Central Connecticut State in a 77-67 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday.
Markeys Deans added a double-double for the Blue Devils (7-14, 4-6 Northeast Conference), scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 boards. Chris Baskerville also chipped in with 11 points.
The Blue Devils opened the game on a 15-4 run and cruised through the first half, taking a 14-point lead at halftime. But the Knights fought back in the second half, eventually taking a 56-55 lead on Sean Baptiste’s 3-pointer with 7:10 left.
But Thompson responded for the Blue Devils, hitting back-to-back 3s to spark a game-winning 10-0 run.
Central Connecticut State outrebounded Fairleigh Dickinson 37-30.
Baptiste scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Knights (6-16, 5-5).
