Cruz homers to lead Rangers past Rockies
SURPRISE, Ariz. — Nelson Cruz hit his fifth home run of the spring and the Texas Rangers beat the Colorado Rockies 7-6 on Monday.
Vladimir Guerrero added an RBI single and newcomer Andres Blanco also had a run-scoring single for the Rangers. Blanco, acquired from the Chicago Cubs on Sunday for a player to be named later, has hits in both of his games with Texas.
Ian Stewart hit his first homer of the spring for Colorado, a two-run shot off Matt Harrison in the second.
Harrison went seven innings, allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts.
Jason Hammel lasted five innings for Colorado, giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
