Bush pitches Florida State to opening-round win
NORWICH, Conn. — Brian Busch allowed one earned run over 6 2-3 innings to lead Florida State past Central Connecticut State 11-3 in the opening game of the Norwich Regional on Friday.
The Seminoles (43-17) trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, but took advantage of a walk and a hit batter to lead off the inning. With two outs, Mike McGee laced a two-run single to center to give Florida State the lead for good.
Florida State broke it open with three runs in the seventh and four in the eighth. James Ramsey went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Jayce Boyd had three hits for the Seminoles.
Starter Dave Krasnowiecki allowed just one run for the Blue Devils (33-22) until McGee’s hit in the fifth. Danny Hickey had two RBIs for Central Connecticut.
