FIU’s Wittels extends hitting streak to 56 games
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Florida International’s Garrett Wittels has extended his hitting streak to 56 games with an RBI double in the first inning against Dartmouth.
The Panthers are playing in the regional elimination game on Saturday afternoon in Coral Gables, Fla. Wittels is just two games from the Division I all-time hit streak record set by Oklahoma State’ Robin Ventura in 1987.
Wittels hit a line drive off Dartmouth starter Robert Young that rolled to the right-center wall.
