Manmohan Singh congratulates Nehwal on Indonesia win

TORONTO - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday congratulated badminton ace Saina Nehwal for defending her title in the Indonesia cup, making it her third victory in as many weeks.
“Saina had shown spirit, determination and skill in winning the championship,” the prime minister said in a statement.
The prime minister, here for the G-20 Summit in Toronto and an official visit to Canada, said the badminton ace had done the country proud and was a role model for the youth.
Saina defeated Japan’s Sayaki Sato 21-19, 13-21, 21-11 in the final at Jakarta Sunday. Ranked World Number Three now, she had earlier won the Indian Open Grand Prix and the Singapore Open Super Series in the previous two weeks.
