BEIJING - China has launched a nationwide campaign against drunk driving, particularly directed at World Cup football fans.

The ministry of public security Wednesday said it was worried as the World Cup reaches its final games, China Daily reported Thursday.

Traffic controllers will patrol venues where fans gather to watch the games, mostly from night and early morning. The World Cup is taking place in South Africa.
