Single-A team to try for bubble wrap world record
LOWELL, Mass. — A minor league baseball team in Massachusetts is aiming to wrap up yet another odd world record.
The Lowell Spinners will celebrate the 50th anniversary of bubble wrap by trying to set the mark for the most people popping it at the same time.
The Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox will go for the record during the third inning of Saturday’s game against the Aberdeen Ironbirds. Each fan, staff member and player will receive a one-foot-square piece of bubble wrap upon entering the park.
The Spinners set the record for the largest game of “Duck, Duck, Goose” in 2004.
