NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — The Cincinati Reds and The St.Louis Cardinals‘ players were engaged in a nasty fight on the field during the last night’s game. The entire incident started when St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina proceeded to move Brandon Phillips’ bat with his leg causing the two to go face-to-face.

The Reds and Cardinals were facing off this week in a showdown for first place in the National League Central division. As a result there was a mounting pressure on both side. So, when Philip’s bat was kicked out by Molina, both the teams started exchanging harsh words while letting each other know that they don’t like each other or their families. Infact, Brandon even took a step forward by calling the entire Red team “little female dogs” in an interview later.

The Reds clearly have a feel good factor about them this year, mostly due to their sudden rise in this season. But the Cardinals are still a dominating force in Baseball, ruling the scene over five years or more. So, it was like a big bully (Cardinals) trying to beat up an underdog (The Reds).

It is expected that MLB Commissioner Bud Selig might soon be sending a suspension message to both the teams. But one thing for sure. The Reds and Cardinals will be fighting for first spot not only this season, but for many years to come. If both teams can keep their players together in the coming years, it would be scary thing for the teams in rest of the division.
