ATLANTA (GaeaTimes.com)- First round draft pick Zach Lee was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, according to reports. The player who was all set to play in the quarterback position for the Louisiana State University team, agreed to a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth $5.25 million that would be paid to him in the next five years. The deal that was edged on Monday night has been successful in creating quite a buzz and understandably so, as this is biggest signing amount to be paid to a draft pick in the history of Los Angeles Dodgers. The deal surpassed the earlier record which was established in the year 2006 when first-rounder Clayton Kershaw was signed by the team for a whopping $2.3 million.

While reacting to the inclusion of Zach Lee in the team, Los Angeles Dodgers assistant general manager Logan White said that he was ecstatic about the development while expressing happiness for the player, his family as well as the entire Dodgers organization. The assistant general manager further went on to say that he has full confidence on Zach Lee and added that by signing the contract with Los Angeles Dodgers even the player had shown his faith in the team.

The deal which would officially brand Zach Lee as a Los Angeles Dodgers player is yet to be finalized completely as physical examination test of the young talent is pending which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday. Zach Lee fell to the 28th position at the overall draft pick following his participation in both baseball and football at the Texas based McKinney High School.
