Marlins summon Sanabia to shut down Pirates, 4-2
PITTSBURGH — Alex Sanabia pitched 7 2-3 innings of four-hit ball, Gaby Sanchez hit a three-run homer and the Florida Marlins beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 on Thursday night.
Sanabia (2-1) allowed one run, struck out five and walked none in his fifth career start. The right-hander was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Wednesday night after Sean West was scratched from his start due to right knee inflammation.
Andrew McCutchen homered for the third time in four games for Pittsburgh (40-81), which clinched its 18th consecutive non-winning season.
