SEATTLE (GaeaTimes.com)- As per the latest news, the Seattle Seahawks has acquired a permission from the San Diego Chargers to talk to the representatives of Vincent Jackson for a potential deal. The news was revealed to a media source by the Seattle Seahawks spokesman who however maintained that the talk at present is at a primary stage. The spokesman added that the team had acquired the right few weeks ago, but as of yet no deal has been finalized between the player and the team concerned. Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod the two agents of Vincent Jackson did not comment on the matter. Neither San Diego Chargers Coach Norv Turner nor General Manager A.J. Smith confirmed the news to media sources.
Although the Seattle Seahawks have acquired the permission to proceed with a deal with Vincent Jackson, there seems to be little change in the position of the player. Vincent Jackson reportedly wants to enter into a multi-year contract with a team and has set his rate as high as US$ 9 million annually. The player has also made it clear by his acts that he is dissatisfied being a restricted free agent in San Diego Chargers. In such a condition, the San Diego Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks team might have to enter into a second trade to get Vincent Jackson a good team.
Apparently is also seems that the San Diego Chargers management is not happy with the Vincent Jackson. Last week the team management threatened to put Vincent Jackson and left tackle Marcus McNeill on the list of roster exempt if they did not sign the contract tenders by Friday midnight. Vincent Jackson at present is under a contract that provides him the same salary that he used to get in 2009.
