DENVER (AP) — Chase Utley drove in six runs and hit a grand slam to cap a nine-run seventh inning Thursday night as the Philadelphia Phillies overcame a four-run deficit to beat the Colorado Rockies 12-11.

Despite a 19-hit night, Colorado trials Philadelphia by 6½ games in the NL wild card chase, a deficit that has ballooned from 3½ games since Monday night.
The game was the makeup of a rainout in May when the Phillies stopped off in Denver on their way home from the West Coast while the Rockies were retreating in the middle of a six-game swing through California.
Carlos Gonzalez continued his power surge with his 31st homer and Chris Iannetta and Dexter Fowler also took Joe Blanton deep as the Rockies built a seemingly safe 7-3 lead heading into the seventh.
Unable to solve starter Jhoulys Chacin (one earned run in 5 1-3 innings), the Phillies had no problem rattling the Rockies’ beleaguered bullpen.
Matt Belisle allowed hits to all three batters he faced in the seventh, including Utley’s RBI single and Howard’s two-run homer, his 25th.
Manny Delcarmen (0-1), acquired from Boston earlier in the week, gave up four earned runs on four hits while getting just one out in his NL debut.
He allowed Werth’s 19th homer that tied it at 7 and a tiebreaking RBI single to pinch-hitter Ben Francisco.
And rookie Matt Reynolds gave up Utley’s fourth career grand slam, which put the Phillies ahead 12-7 and chased many of the 30,179 fans to the exits early.
The Rockies, who got 20 hits but left 14 runners on base, blew leads of 4-0, 6-2 and 7-3, and their manager was ejected.
They didn’t go down without a fight, however, getting three runs in the seventh off Chad Durbin to make it 12-10.
The Rockies loaded the bases with two outs off righty Jose Contreras in the eighth but rookie Eric Young Jr. grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the threat.
Fowler scored from third on Tulowitzki’s fielder’s choice groundball in the ninth to make it 12-11. Todd Helton, hitless in his first five at-bats, drew a walk. Lidge, however, struck out Clint Barmes and got Ryan Spilborghs to ground into a force out at third to end it.
With his long shot over the power alley in right-center, Gonzalez became the 13th player in major league history to get extra-base hits in 10 straight games, according to STATS LLC. He’s the first to do it since Johnny Damon accomplished the feat May 4-14, 2009, for the New York Yankees.
In the second, Iannetta sent a pitch halfway up the left-field bleachers for his eighth homer, a three-run shot, and Fowler went deep with his fourth home run and a 4-0 lead.
The Phillies didn’t get a hit until Werth’s single with two outs in the fourth. He scored on Raul Ibanez’s single. Young’s throwing error led to another unearned run in the fifth that made it 4-2 on Utley’s sacrifice fly.
The Rockies got the run back in the bottom half when Gonzalez hit his 31st homer. Center fielder Shane Victorino didn’t even bother to give chase as the ball landed beyond the Phillies’ bullpen more than 450 feet from home plate.
Seth Smith added an RBI single to make it 6-2 and chase Blanton, who allowed six runs, four earned, on 10 hits in 4 1-3 innings.
Chacin ran into trouble in the sixth when Werth and Ibanez reached on infield singles. After a fielder’s choice put runners at the corners with one out, Belisle came in and walked Brian Schneider on four pitches to load the bases.
Pinch-hitter Mike Sweeney was hit on his right hand on a 1-2 pitch, bringing in a run that made it 6-3 and leading to Rockies manager Jim Tracy’s ejection by home plate umpire Paul Emmel.
Tulowitzki made it 7-3 in the bottom of the inning with an infield single off Bastardo.
NOTES: The other time Utley had six RBIs also came against Colorado, on May 26, 2008. … Colorado RHP Aaron Cook, who’s been sidelined by a toe injury, will pitch Friday night against the Padres.
(This version CORRECTS that Colorado had 20 hits.)
