Rockies 2B Young leaves game with bruised neck
DENVER — Colorado Rockies second baseman Eric Young Jr. has left a game against San Francisco with a bruised neck.
Young was injured in the first inning Saturday night when Giants slugger Aubrey Huff slid into him at second base. Huff advanced to second on a wild pitch, and catcher Chris Iannetta’s errant throw allowed Huff to go to third.
Young finished the inning and batted in the bottom of the first before being replaced in the field by Jonathan Herrera to start the second inning.
