Rangers’ Murphy leaves game with groin injury
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers left fielder David Murphy left in the second inning of Wednesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners because of a strained left groin.
Murphy reached first on an error and remained in the game while teammates Bengie Molina and Matt Treanor took their turns at bat.
At that point, manager Ron Washington and a Rangers trainer went to first base to check on Murphy, who walked to the dugout and was replaced by Mitch Moreland.
