Twins upset with Timberwolves over new billboard
MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins are unhappy with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Officials with the AL Central champion baseball team are upset with the NBA franchise for putting up a giant advertisement overlooking their sparkling new ballpark.
The Sanford Health billboard going up on the side of Target Center will dominate the view toward right field at Target Field, as well as from Target Plaza outside the ballpark. The Timberwolves say it will debut in time for the first game of the Twins’ playoff run on Wednesday.
Twins president Dave St. Peter tells the Star Tribune they’re surprised by the sheer size of the sign and how it dominates the view.
Timberwolves president Chris Wright isn’t apologizing. He says the NBA team is thrilled with their deepening partnership with Sanford Health, which has 30 hospitals and 111 clinics in eight states.
