LONDON - Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has branded a seventh-place Premier League finish for his club as unacceptable.

“We want more than seventh, seventh’s not acceptable at this club. If you look where we were a couple of weeks ago, of course we’re happy being seventh,” the Sun quoted Gerrard, as saying.

“But we’ve got Stoke next and it’s important that we keep this run going and try to get another three points and move up the table even more. We’re not happy with seventh,” he added.

The 30-year-old is also confident that Liverpool’s fortunes will change under new coach Kenny Dalglish.

“Training has been slightly different, different coaches coming in with different ideas and different methods,” Gerrard said.

“The training over last couple of weeks has been very enjoyable and I think the lads are taking that out there,” he added. (ANI)
